CLIENTS CHALLENGE
Our client, a global F&B company, was looking for a reliable water treatment system for their second production facility in Bahrain. They were not satisfied with the system at their current production facility and were, therefore, looking for a new supplier.
Reliability and quality were the most important selection criteria for the client. Producing for competitive markets meant they could not afford any production downtime. Even a brief outage could immediately affect market share.
Our client specified a system that would consistently perform at 100% irrespective of operating conditions. Due to space restrictions the skid-mounted system needed to be assembled and customised on site.

The feed water is chlorinated municipality water, requiring treatment for the following applications:

-
Production process
-
The process equipment
-
Cooling towers
OUR SOLUTION
The client needed two Reverse Osmosis (RO) brackish water units, both producing 2 x 1400m³/day. Due to the presence of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the raw water, we also needed to incorporate fouling resistance membranes in our design.
In line with company policy, we only source and provide high quality parts. Similarly, we also tested each component above the given design parameters on-site to ensure the overall reliability of the system.
Furthermore, our team of operators, technicians and engineers spent 20 days at the site, to modify and complete the installation. As a result, we met all the requirements of the client.

SCOPE OF WORK
-
System capacity: 2 x 1400 m³/day
-
Type: Skid Mounted
-
No. of trains: Two
-
Pre-Treatment Flow Rate: 73.0m³/hr per Train
-
Product Flow Rate: 58.4 m³/hr per Train
-
Average Recovery: 80%
-
Expected Product Water TDS: <40ppm @ 25°C
-
Operating Hours/Day: 24/7
-
Mode of operation: Manual
-
Design TDS: 400 ppm
-
Power Supply: 380 – 415V, 3Phase, 50Hz
PROJECT RESULT
The system was installed and commissioned by Advanced Watertek engineers. The treated water quality met all of the client’s parameters.

We designed, manufactured and installed two Reverse Osmosis (RO) brackish water units, both producing 2 x 1400m³/day. Due to the presence of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the raw water, we also incorporated fouling resistance membranes in our design.

The system still is performing within the operating parameters set by the client, reducing operating and water purchasing costs and saving money.
