THE CHALLENGE

In the middle of the ocean, potable water is a prized commodity.
A high quality desalination system offers rig operators what they prioritise above all else - independence and reliability.

500 kilometres offshore from Darwin, in the Timor Sea, our client was working on rich offshore gas and condensate fields, leasing platforms that had Advanced Watertek systems installed. They'd operated our systems in these remote, harsh conditions without issue - they were 'tried and tested'.

We received an enquiry from our client for a skid mounted desalination system capable of producing zero TDS water suitable for a wide range of processes around gas extraction.

OUR SOLUTION

We were engaged to manufacture and provide a highly customised, skid mounted, reverse osmosis desalination system with additional UV sterilisation.

The system itself is designed in two parallel and independent trains, mounted on fabricated stainless steel baseplates. Features include pre-treatment via filter cartridge and multimedia filtration, chemical dosing, cleaning and flushing systems, calcite filtration and UV disinfection.

The system also had to be manufactured to stringent size and space restrictions. Efficient and thoughtful design was utilised to ensure all volume requirements were met, including space allowances for loading membranes and undertaking maintenance.

Each skid is designed with lifting attachments and appropriate devices required for offshore handling.
