CLIENTS CHALLENGE
A global EPC was looking for a solution to treat high salinity water feeds coming from bore wells in Kuwait. It needed to be a mobile solution as they were operating in various locations throughout the northern Kuwaiti oil fields. Applications for permeate water use included:
-
wash water
-
demineralised water
-
potable water requirements

Advanced Watertek were contracted to supply a large scale containerised solution.
OUR SOLUTION
Advanced Watertek was engaged to provide the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the complete plant package.
Primarily we have made use of Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology. Our solution is a plug and play containerised package plant designed to stringent specifications. The plant is operated remotely and monitored through a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

SCOPE OF WORK
-
RO Containerised package
-
Capacity: 8,000 bbl/day
-
Self-Cleaning filter followed by cartridge filtration as pre-treatment
-
First pass RO for wash water and potable water
-
Second pass RO for demineralised water
-
30m3 Nitrogen blanketed DM tank
-
PLC Controlled and can be monitored remotely
PROJECT RESULT
The system was installed and commissioned by Advanced Watertek engineers. Treated water quality met all of the client’s stringent parameters.

We developed a first pass RO to deliver the wash water and potable water. In addition, second pass RO was developed to deliver demineralised water for process applications. The system has a design capacity of 8,000 bbl/day combined permeate flow. Finally, the demineralised water is stored in a nitrogen-blanketed tank provided by Advanced Watertek.

The system still is performing within the operating parameters set by the client, reducing operating and water purchasing costs and reducing operational spend.
